Projectile Motion

Calculate ideal projectile flight time, maximum height and horizontal range.

How this calculator works

Enter launch speed (m/s), launch angle (degrees), launch height (m). CalcStack applies the displayed formula and reports each intermediate planning value with the units shown.

Formula / method

Range uses v²sin(2θ)/g at level ground; flight time solves y = h + vt − ½gt²

Worked example

30 m/s at 45° from ground level travels about 91.77 m in ideal conditions.

Assumptions and limitations

Gravity is 9.80665 m/s² and air resistance is ignored.

Drag, spin, uneven terrain and changing gravity can materially change trajectories.
